As we start a new decade, it’s the perfect time for WWE fans to reflect on the most memorable moments during the 2010s.
The decade was full of fresh and young superstars, with most of the familiar faces from the 2000s retiring or moving to other companies. The change led to a new wave of wrestling superstars flying the company’s logo high. Here are the most incredible WWE moments of the last decade.
NXT’s Birth
Several years ago, WWE got rid of the Florida Championship Wrestling and transformed it into NXT, with Triple H at the helm. NXT was established as part of Vince McMahon’s minor league system, and it has continued to grow ever since. Today, most of WWE’s top talents developed their skills in NXT. That includes the likes of Charlotte, Shinsuke Nakamura, Roman Reigns, Rollins, Banks, Lynch, and Kevin Owens.
The NXT brand paved the way for the next generation of WWE wrestlers, making it’s birth the most defining moment of the decade. However, several other thrilling moments defined the decade in sweat and blood.
The Rise of The Shield
Just like Betway, there’s nothing we can say about The Shield that you might not have heard as a wrestling fan. Nonetheless, this was undoubtedly the best stable during the last decade, with the three men changing the course of WWE.
While Dean Ambrose is no longer in WWE, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns have become the newest premier faces in the tournament. The two have brought us incredible moments while playing the Betway lucky numbers, successfully filling the gap of legendary stars like Triple H, John Cena, and The Undertaker. This villainous squad changed a lot in wrestling.
The Yes Movement
For Daniel Bryan, 2013 was a year of redemption as he won the WWE Tag Team Championship after the infamous Wrestlemania 28. Bryan was able to put a solid fight against Randy Orton, establishing himself among the greatest in-ring workers of all time. He was eager to prove to his fans what a great fighter he was, and he did in front of the biggest WWE audience in 2013.
WrestleMania 31
Considered to be the greatest Money in the Bank cash-ins, Seth Rollins ran like a mad man bent on fulfilling the mission of surprising the world. During the Reigns/Lesnar main event, the fight was solid without the cash in. However, Rollins ran in the ring and hit the Curb Stomp on both Lesnar and Reigns, giving the audience a beautiful WrestleMania moment. The event came to a solid end, and Rollins emerged as the top man in the company.
Stephanie McMahon Ushers in the Diva Revolution
Many top female WWE superstars were long gone by mid-2015, calling for a huge change. That prompted Stephanie McMahon to unveil the Diva’s revolution during an episode of Raw on 13th July 2015. After the announcement, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Charlotte Flair appeared and quickly rose as the three premier faces of the female division. Additionally, all three have won multiple titles to date, headlining different pay-per-view shows.
