Monty Sopp, aka Billy Gunn has been released from his WWE Contract as a Trainer for Performance Enhancing Drug use.

Gunn, 52, has been a NXT/Development trainer since 2012 and had a short reunion with the main roster as part of the New Age Outlaws with Road Dogg in 2013, even winning the Tag Team Championship. Billy was most recently a Special Referee on the 7th November NXT Show for the Main Event tag team match in Largo.

Billys’ drug test came back with a 37-1 Testosterone/Epitesterone ratio, with the limit being 4-1, and has also been suspending from Powerlifting for four years. The WWE did not know about until recently nor did they know about his suspension.

Billy has also been featured (and assuming they’re all taped, will continue to feature) on the new WWE Reality Series “Breaking Ground” which follows the NXT & Performance Center wrestlers making their way from Developmental to the main roster.
