TWM NEWS ARE SADDENED TO HAVE LEARNED OF THE PASSING OF LEGENDARY MANAGER BOBBY HEENAN AT THE AGE OF 73.
Heenan gained fame in the AWA in the 70’s before moving onto the World Wrestling Federation in 1984. He managed a Hall of Fame roster including legendary names like Nick Bockwinkel, Andre The Giant, “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig, The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard), Paul Orndorff, “Ravishing” Rick Rude, Ric Flair and Harley Race.
He was also the voice of wrestling in the 80s and early 90s, alongside Gorilla Monsoon in the WWF and on the WCW Monday Nitro announce team during his later years, right in the middle of the Monday Night Wars.
Condolences have been pouring out from the wrestling world, including friends and colleagues such as Jim Ross and Gene Okerlund.
The news of Bobby “The Brain” Heenan’s passing today gutted me.
I loved our time together.
No one ever did it better than the Wease.
