FORMER WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION JACK SWAGGER HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY RELEASED BY WWE.
As revealed on Chael Sonnen’s podcast a few weeks ago, Jack Swagger has said that he had asked for his release from the company, and this announcement has confirmed that WWE have acquiesced.
WWE released this brief, simple statement.
WWE has come to terms on the release of Jack Swagger. WWE wishes Swagger the best in all his future endeavors.
Jack Swagger, real name Jacob Hager, joined WWE’s developmental system in 2006, and worked in Deep South Wrestling, Ohio Valley Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling. He then joined the WWECW brand in 2008, winning that brands heavyweight title. He then joined the Raw roster before winning the Money In The Bank briefcase, which lead to him winning the World Heavyweight Title, and switching to the SmackDown brand. He is also a former United States heavyweight champion, and received notoriety for his anti-immigration ‘Real American’ gimmick alongside his manager Zeb Colter.
