Former WWE, ROH, ECW and TNA star and long time ring veteran Jerry Lynn requires major neck and back surgery and has set up a GoFundMe page so that his fans can contribute to his cause.
Surgery is set for August 6th, and while he does have medical insurance, he needs help in paying the deductible sum and to help provide for his family during the time that he can’t perform or indeed work any other job.
The target is set at $15,000, and anything over that amount raised will be donated to Nashville Rescue Mission, which offers food, clothing and shelter to the homeless.
Jerry has had a storied career over the past 25 years, and hit his prime in the late 90’s & early 2000’s during ECW. He became their world Champion in October of 2000 and was one of the superstars that WWE would pick up during the purchase of ECW, and was involved in many Light Heavyweight Championship matches prior to the WWE/WCW/ECW Invasion.
After WWE, he would resurface on independent scene in 2002 and subsequently joined TNA. He is considered one of the integral parts of the X-Division with Low Ki, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels and was part of the original NWA/TNA from the very beginning.
After such a storied career and wrestling all over the world, Jerry now needs the help of his loyal fans. A representative of his says:
Jerry has been experiencing chronic neck pain as well as pain in his right arm and numbness. The first procedure will be neck surgery to remove bones spurs, replace three degenerative discs, and fuse his vertebrae. He will be having this procedure done on Thursday, August 6. Jerry does have medical insurance, but he needs help in paying the $5,000 deductible.
Plus, he will be out of work recovering for 2-3 months, which will put a hardship on his family, including his wife and young daughter. To help cover all of his expenses, we are hoping to raise $15,000. Jerry would like to give anything over that amount to charity to help others in need. The charity he has chosen is the Nashville Rescue Mission which seeks to help the hurting of Middle Tennessee by offering food, clothing, and shelter to the homeless and recovery programs to those enslaved in life degrading problems.
