I FIRST LOOKED AT THE RISE OF ‘THE MODERN DAY MAHARAJAH’, THEN I SPOKE ABOUT THE STATE OF AFFAIRS REGARDING HIS TITLE REIGN. IT SEEMS ONLY RIGHT TO LOOK AT HOW JINDER MAHAL IS DOING NOW HIS REIGN HAS COME TO AN END.

On the November 7 episode of SmackDown Live in Manchester, England, after a staggering 170 day title reign, millions rejoiced as Jinder Mahal finally dropped the WWE Championship to A.J Styles. Don’t get too excited though because this isn’t the end for Jinder.

Survivor Series was more or less mapped out with the original plan being, Mahal taking on The Beast, Brock Lesnar in a “Champion v Champion” bout. A.J Styles would go on to beat Rusev in Manchester and slip into the 5th spot for SmackDown Live’s men’s team, but it wasn’t to be.

A leaked Survivor Series poster surfaced featuring various WWE Superstars, including Roman Reigns who is currently ill and has been off-screen for a number of weeks and to some peoples surprise, none other than John Cena in a referees shirt. It was documented there would be a special guest referee for the match between Jinder and Brock. WWE allegedly asked The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin if they would be interested. I think had this gone forward, we could have potentially seen Jinder/Cena for Wrestlemania 34, though that still isn’t beyond the realms of possibility.

With the changes that have happened to the main event, John Cena has been revealed as the 5th and final member of SmackDown Live’s men’s team.

Jinder dropped the title to A.J Styles which ultimately now sets up Styles/Lesnar which is going to be an absolute blockbuster of a match. It made complete sense for WWE to change the current plans for the pay-per-view. Not only because of the leaked poster but as it stood, it was a god awful main event. I’m sure Jinder could learn from Brock and it would give him some great experience but no fan wants to see it. There is now renewed hope for the pay-per-view.

As I mentioned earlier though, this isn’t the end for Jinder Mahal. I can already hear the groaning. Yes, Jinder is taking a backseat but it won’t be for very long in my opinion. WWE, RAW specifically are returning to India and will have shows for the 8th and 9th of December. I expect Jinder will be returning as WWE champion.
