Kanellis wrestled infrequently on Raw and 205 Live
WWE Superstar Mike Kanellis has announced on social media he has requested his release from the company.
In a tweet, Kanellis states that whilst he has enjoyed his time with WWE, he “came to WWE to work and that opportunity does not exist now”.
He re-signed with the company to a multi-year deal alongside his wife Maria, who is now currently pregnant with their second child.
Mike Kanellis made his WWE debut alongside Maria on SmackDown Live, before moving to the Raw brand and then 205 Live. He recently attacking Akira Tozawa during his no disqualification match against Brian Kendrick, before seemingly joining forces with Kendrick.
His wife, Maria has not made a statement as of yet.
