SIXTEEN OF THE UNITED KINGDOM AND IRELAND’S FINEST WRESTLERS STARTED THEIR ODYSSEY TO BECOME THE FIRST WWE UNITED KINGDOM CHAMPION.
At a packed house in the beautiful Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, England – the first day of WWE’s landmark tournament to crown the first ever WWE United Kingdom champion. As Triple H opened proceeded, what followed was eight fantastic opening round matches.
Two early tournament favourites made their way into the quarter finals, with Trent Seven dispatching HC Dyer and PROGRESS Champion Pete Dunne bested fellow PROGRESS stand-out Roy Johnson. Mark Andrews also advanced with a victory over Dan Moloney and Jordan Devlin won in controversial fashion over Danny Burch, with Burch seemingly kicking out before the count of three. Blackpool’s own Sam Gradwell went through beating Saxon Huxley, but James Drake also from Blackpool was not as lucky, losing out to Joseph Connors. Wolfgang also progressed with a victory over Tyson T-Bone and Tyler Bate got a victory over Northern Ireland’s Tucker in a phenomenal match-up.
The quarter final matches are Trent Seven vs Wolfgang, Pete Dunne vs Sam Gradwell, Mark Andrews vs Joseph Connors and Tyler Bate vs Jordan Devlin.
