Cue explosions all over the online world, hell, you might not even be able to read this right now because our website might well have burst into flames. But if you are reading this news report then undoubtedly you are one of those fans who is currently beaming with excitement.
The former Ring of Honor and TNA alumnus debuted in WWE this week, showing up at the very end of NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable to confront another ROH alumni in Kevin Owens, following his match with yes, you guessed it, another ROH alumni in Sami Zayn.
The signing has been rumoured for weeks, and news broke at the weekend that Samoa Joe was expected to make his debut on the NXT special but as we often see with WWE they have a habit of changing plans once things leak.
They stuck to their guns on this one and Joe walked out to a raucous ovation as Full Sail and indeed the world went crazy.
The most interesting this about this entire situation is that they addressed him on air as Samoa Joe, and immediately put the Samoa Joe t-shirt he was wearing on sale on WWE Shop. That’s right, he’s Samoa Joe in WWE.
After the show went off the air he took to the mic with the following message for the NXT fans:
Consider this your warning. I am Samoa Joe. I am Pro Wrestling. And I am here in NXT.
This week, Kevin Owens showed up on RAW and took out John Cena and then Samoa Joe showed up in NXT. It was the Ring of Honour guy and the TNA guy in a WWE ring.
What a time to be alive, and what a time to be a wrestling fan.
