It has been another hellish week in the world of British wrestling.

While we won’t go into details about incidents that have come to light – mainly for legal reasons – it’s fair to say that British wrestling has a serious issue.

In the space of just 48 hours, between June 16th and June 18th, we have had wrestlers exposed as racists, antisemites and, scraping the bottom of an already rotten barrel, alleged sexual abusers.

To those who have spoken out and put their heads above the parapet, we say thank you and we are here for you. Always.

And to those who have continued to drag this scene further into the dog pile, we refuse to acknowledge you any longer and hope those in charge of reputable companies follow suit.

This industry we know and love is unregulated with no real support system for those who need help – or for those whose mistake are worthy of re-education – and thereby lies the issue.

We, the fans, are the regulators of how those who have done right and those who have done wrong are treated.

WE are the ones who are made to check our moral compass and act on what is going on – not those who have perpetrated acts of disgrace. After all, it’s our money that these people are being paid with.

A simple “Sorry, I messed up” tweet does not cut it anymore.

The world is going through a significant change, and it’s time the industry we love changes for the better. We hope today is the start of that . . . although, we’re not too confident it will.
