Bayley Injured! WWE has learned that Bayley sustained an injury while training for her WWE Money in the Bank match against Bianca Belair and will be out approximately nine months.
A suitable replacement for the SmackDown Women’s Title Match will be announced tonight on FOX. Tune in to SmackDown at 8/7 C and follow WWE social channels for the latest updates. Bayley had been scheduled to face Belair in an “I Quit” match at the PPV.
With Bayley Injured, the timing couldn’t be worse for her especially with WWE set to welcome fans back to shows and return to touring from the July 16 episode of SmackDown next week. Bayley has been widely regarded as one of the best performers for WWE during the pandemic era, so this will come at an awful time for her as at times during the start of the pandemic, she was on all 3 shows and worked most shows.
The fans booed her and received genuine heel heat and this way of working and manipulating the crowd is something Charlotte Flair could only dream of. Like Sasha Banks, she was also unhappy at dropping the Tag Titles so soon after winning them but unlike Sasha Banks, she stayed professional and was ultimately rewarded with a Smackdown Women’s Champion run.
Bayley is the crown jewel in the WWE’s women’s division. What should not go unsaid in regards to these four women is the inspiration they give to female wrestling fans and especially those who aspire to be a professional wrestler. All these women are terrific role models, they have broken down so many barriers and will hopefully continue in that vein and inspire others to do so.
