Smackdown Spoilers from May 26th (To Air, May 28th);
Dean Ambrose did a promo to start the show. Also he and Roman Reigns will take on Kane and Seth Rollins tonight.
The Lucha Dragons beat Cesaro and Tyson Kidd. The other teams from Sunday’s match were lumberjacks at ringside. This was really good.
R-Truth became the latest person to beat King Barrett. Afterward Sheamus came in and Brogue Kicked both of them.
Renee Young was interviewing Lana when Rusev came in. They argued.
Ryback beat Rusev by DQ when Rusev ran Ryback into the ring post. Rusev was selling a foot injury and trainers came out and helped him after the match.
Paige beat Naomi after she kicked Tamina, who was at ringside, to keep her from interfering.
Michael Cole did an interview with Kevin Owens which explained Owens’ back story well.
Reigns and Ambrose won by DQ when J and J interfered. The New Day came down to attack them as well, but they made their own save to end the show.
As you can see in the Bolded section, Rusev appeared to have injured his foot and was selling it. Live Reports via /r/SquaredCircle/ (Specifically This Post by user Spyridontrilogy ) note that Rusev might’ve tweaked his ankle, and the DQ with the Ring Post was the “Plan B”. Below are quotes from the topic and 2 users who went to the Tapings;
Rusev’s match had a really strange ending, seemed to end rather abruptly. Then he was helped back by three or four officials. Looked legit, you could see him limping even off to the side of the stage, behind the curtain.
He had his head in his hands and looked like he was ready to cry after getting disqualified for using the ring post… Definitely tweaked his ankle… I didn’t notice the X because I didn’t know it had happened, but one of my friends said the ref definitely did it.
While we know Reddit isn’t exactly the greatest source for confirmation, the following pictures also surfaced this morning on Social Media.
Needless to say if Rusev is indeed injured, it couldn’t have come at a worst time. He has been one of the highlights of RAW in recent memory, just entered a storyline with Lana & Dolph Ziggler and has really developed his character to the point where he was in the Elimination Chamber match this Sunday. We’ll have more on this News story as it happens, and as we get confirmation.
