As previously noted, there is talk about this year’s WWE Summerslam and future televised events taking place at the Amway arena in Orlando, FL. While no tickets are expected to be sold for Summerslam, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted that WWE is considering the concept of virtual fans for future broadcasts including Summerslam. WWE broadcast partner FOX has been using virtual fans for Major League Baseball events.
AJ Styles is expected to defend the Intercontinental Title against Jeff Hardy at Summerslam. This week’s Smackdown was scheduled to be taped last week but there was a delay and the show is being taped today. Johnson added that Styles vs. Hardy was the planned direction prior to the taping being postponed.
