The Miz entered the WWE with the status of star of the reality show The Real World , on MTV , but was progressively able to detach from that condition, evolve as a wrestler and become an important character in the promoter, to the point of having won the WWE Championship for twice and participated in the main event of WrestleMania XXVII .
Born on October 8, 1980 in Parma, Ohio, Michael Gregory Mizanin practiced basketball, athletics and swimming before making his in-ring debut in 2008 with the company Ultimate Pro Wrestling.
In 2004 he entered the fourth season of WWE’s Tough Enough , having been on the brink of victory, which eventually fell to Daniel Puder. However, the promoter maintained interest in The Miz and ended up hiring and developing him, to the point of releasing him on the main roster in 2006.

After Randy Orton defended the WWE Championship against Wade Barrett on the November 22, 2010 episode of Raw , The Miz cashed-in to his Money in the Bank contract and went on to become WWE Champion for the first time.
Meanwhile, a rematch between Miz and Orton was scheduled for TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2010 , with The Miz choosing the stipulation. And the champion chose to defend the title in a Tables match, ending up winning after interference from Alex Riley .
In parallel, Sheamus won the King of the Ring tournament in November by beating John Morrison in the finals. However, at Survivor Series there was a rematch, with Morrison beating the Irishman . However, a ladder match between the two was scheduled for TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2010 to determine the main contender for the WWE Championship , with Morrison winning . In the days that followed, it was announced that The Miz would defend the title against John Morrison on the first episode of Raw in 2011, in a Falls Count Anywhere match.

Steel Cage match for the WWE Championship :
The Miz (c) vs. John Cena vs. John Morrison
At Elimination Chamber, John Cena won an Elimination Chamber match and earned the opportunity to face The Miz for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania XXVII . However, he would be defeated after interference from The Rock.
Eight days later, on the April 11 episode of Monday Night Raw , John Cena , Randy Orton , John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler and R-Truth faced off in a gauntlet match to determine the main contender. Cena and Truth made it to the end, but were both attacked by The Miz and Alex Riley, resulting in a double disqualification. However, Raw ‘s unnamed general manager announced that The Miz would have to defend the title against Cena and Truth in a Steel Cage match at Extreme Rules.
The following week, Morrison (who had been eliminated by Truth gauntlet match ) confronted Truth and challenged him to stake his spot in the PP V main event . Truth accepted and Morrison eventually won, replacing Truth at Extreme Rules .

TLC match for the WWE Championship :
CM Punk (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. The Miz
CM Punk was the 2011 WWE fashion superstar and naturally won the WWE Championship three times that year, the last of which was at Survivor Series, when he defeated then-champion Alberto Del Rio , who in turn had won the title in a match in which CM Punk had been present, as well as John Cena, in Hell in a Cell. The night after Survivor Series , on Monday Night Raw , CM Punk successfully defended his belt in a match against Del Rio.
A week later, The Miz, Del Rio, John Cena and Dolph Ziggler demanded to be the main candidate. As such, WWE Executive Vice President John Laurinaitis announced that each of the four would face off against SmackDown wrestlers and that whoever won would receive a title shot. Del Rio defeated Daniel Bryan and The Miz beat Randy Orton by countout , while Dolph Ziggler lost to Sheamus and John Cena relinquished his opportunity to allow Zack Ryder to fight for the United States Championship. During the signing of the match’s contract, Laurinaitis announced that CM Punk, Del Rio and The Miz would face off in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.

The Miz (c) vs. Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn
At WrestleMania 32, Kevin Owens lost the intercontinental title to Zack Ryder in a ladder match that involved seven wrestlers, including Sami Zayn and The Miz .
At the Raw the following night, The Miz won the belt after his wife, Maryse, distracted Ryder. The following week, Owens interrupted Shane McMahon and demanded a title shot, but instead Shane scheduled a match between Owens and Cesaro to determine the leading contender, which Cesaro won.
At Payback, Owens beat Sami Zayn and stayed to comment on the Intercontinental Title match, but was attacked by Zayn. The fight between the two went to the ring, which distracted Cesaro, who when trying to throw Owens and Zayn out of the ring ended up suffering the settlement of The Miz. Then the four men got into a fight that ended with Owens lifting his belt . On the following night’s Raw , Owens and Cesaro met again in a match to determine the new main contender, but the match ended in a No Contest after The Miz, who was on the commentary table, attacked Cesaro. Meanwhile Zayn appeared on the scene and another fight ensued between the four, which ended with Zayn holding the belt.
Three days later, on the May 5 episode of SmackDown , The Miz faced Sami Zayn and was defeated following interference from Kevin Owens. Then Cesaro joined the party and, after another fight between the four of them, lifted his belt.
That said, on the May 9 episode of Raw , Shane and Stephanie McMahon scheduled a triple threat match for Extreme Rules between Owens, Miz, and Cesaro. However, Zayn demanded to be included in the match and, after beating The Miz once more, was added, turning the feud into a fatal four way match .

On the August 23 episode of Talking Smack , intercontinental champion The Miz engaged in a sour exchange with general manager Daniel Bryan , who accused him of fighting like a coward for fear of getting hurt.
