Glasgow, Scotland will host the Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown tapings at the SSE Hydro for the WWE UK Tour in November 2016.
WWE have announced full details of their November 2016 WWE UK tour. It was announced at tonight’s WWE SmackDown tapings at the O2 in London, that WWE’s next set of UK TV tapings will take place at the SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland on Monday, November 7 2016 and Tuesday, November 8 2016.
Interestingly enough, Scotland promotion Insane Championship Wrestling also have a show at the SSE Hydro arena two weeks later on November 20. It seems as if WWE are looking to encroach on territory usually occupied by British promotions. After London based promotion PROGRESS Wrestling held shows at Download Festival last year, WWE announced they would be running NXT shows the festival in June 2016.
In December 2015, WWE ran an NXT live event from the Winter Gardens Ballroom in Blackpool. A venue previously run by Preston City Wrestling.
The full list of dates for the November 2016 WWE UK Tour are as follows:
Friday, November 4: LONDON – SSE Arena Wembley.
Saturday, November 5: MANCHESTER – Manchester Arena.
Sunday, November 6: NEWCASTLE – Metro Radio Arena.
Sunday, November 6: LEEDS – First Direct Arena.
Monday, November 7: GLASGOW – SSE Hydro Arena (Raw Taping).
Tuesday, November 8: GLASGOW – SSE Hydro Arena (SmackDown Taping).
Wednesday, November 9: BIRMINGHAM – Genting Arena.
Thursday, November 10: CARDIFF – Motorpoint Arena.
Conspicuous by their absence are the usual dates in Nottingham and at the Butlins holiday camp. It could be that WWE are running a shorter tour due to the NXT UK tour in summer.
Tickets for the Glasgow TV tapings go on sale on Saturday, April 23 2016 at 9am GMT. Tickets for the rest of the tour go on sale on Friday, May 6 2016 at 9am GMT.
