Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks may play rivals on TV, and, if the internet is to be believed, Lexi Kaufman and Mercedes Varnando hate each other in real life, too.

For the record, I am a fan of both. I find them to be incredible in-ring workers and personalities. But the pair apparantly can’t stand each other, and their heated rivalry has simmered for years.

It seemingly can all be traced back to one fateful night in 2014 during an NXT match where Sasha was a little overzealous and broke the nose of Bliss, who allegedly didn’t quite believe it to have been an accident.

They are polar opposites to one another. While Bliss is all glamour, pigtails and Disney, Banks is all business, sass and professional wrestling.

Banks, apparently, believes Bliss is using WWE as a stepping stone to something else, while Alexa reportedly dislikes Sasha for being an “unsafe worker”.

In fairness to Bliss, I can see her point. It seems every time the two square off, Banks causes some sort of injury to Alexa. It occurred on two separate occasions last year, forcing Bliss to vent her frustration on social media with veiled attacks at The Boss.

Sasha plays the villain perfectly, especially online, which makes it hard to decipher whether she’s portraying her character or her own beliefs when she constantly disses Little Miss Bliss.

Prior to an encounter on Raw between the pair last year, Banks sarcastically Tweeted “Can’t wait to unload the tank for one of the greatest”. Uncalled for and petty, but definitely something The Boss would say. That’s fine and dandy unless it was Mercedes.

Then that’s a whole different story.

Alexa Bliss is one of the most popular stars on the WWE roster today. Her character and real-life story resonate with fans across the globe. She’s already achieved so much in her short career with WWE, and she still has so much further to go. The same can be said for Banks. It’s just sad they don’t see eye-to-eye.

Both have already had Hall Of Fame worthy careers. Bliss may not be as good between the ropes as Banks, but then Sasha can’t hold a candle to Alexa on the mic. They’re chalk and cheese, character and personality-wise.

Opposites usually attract, but not in this case.

Who do I side with? From the evidence, I have to go with Alexa Bliss. So what if she is just using WWE as a stepping stone to greater things? She wouldn’t be the first to do so, and certainly won’t be the last.

It’s none of Sasha’s business what Alexa wants to do. All Banks has to do is be a professional in the ring regardless of her personal feelings, and she has shown time and time again that she is seemingly unable to do so.

If they could somehow get on the same page in real life, and use that built-up animosity, they could create one of the greatest rivalries in WWE history.

I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one happening any time soon though.
