What a Monday night Bray Wyatt had. What began with a victory in 6-man tag action quickly transpired into something far more sinister and, for the vast majority of fans, something more exciting.
We all know how much of a special attraction Brock Lesnar is. WWE book him very strongly and use his limited dates with extreme success. Lesnar’s title run from September 2014 to March 2015 was one of the most intriguing in recent memory and including memorable matches against John Cena, Seth Rollins and, of course, Roman Reigns.
Fast forward to the future, and the beast is coming off a feud with the Undertaker that culminated in a hellacious Hell in a Cell match at the October PPV. Lesnar is one of the biggest stars that WWE can call upon and his presence instantly boosts whichever show he appears on.
This week, Lesnar appeared on Chris Jericho’s “Highlight Reel”, alongside Jericho; Paul Heyman & Roman Reigns. When Lesnar rushed the ring, he was immediately speared by Reigns who then continued to dish out pain to the beast.
Bray, and the rest of the Wyatt clan went after Brock. First Harper with a big boot, then Rowan with a clothesline followed by Strowman with offense of his own. Then, the patriarch of the monstrous clan decided it was his turn to get in on the action. He bellowed to his brothers to “get him up!”. And with a swift move, Brock was cradled in his arms, being given a kiss goodnight and having his head driven into the canvas thanks to a Sister Abigail.
Now this begs the question, what is Wyatt’s motive here? Is he going after Lesnar personally, or is this simply a message to the 28 other superstars in the Royal Rumble?
We may not know the answer just yet, but one thing’s for sure. The world is finally waking up to Bray Wyatt.
