Former UFC Champion only made a handful of WWE appearances.

After just one match for WWE, it appears that Cain Velasquez is done with the company.

On this morning’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that World Wrestling Entertainment was released from his big-money, multi-year deal with the company that he signed in 2019.

Velasquez has only wrestled once for WWE, losing a WWE Championship match to former UFC rival Brock Lesnar at Super Showdown on October 31st.

Cain made his debut on the 4th October episode of SmackDown, appearing at the show’s FOX debut by confronting Brock Lesnar seconds after regaining the WWE Title from Kofi Kingston.

Velasquez has spent time training at the Performance Center after that, but Meltzer reported that he hadn’t heard of Cain working out in Orlando anytime recently.

It isn’t clear if Cain was let go as part of the 15th April cuts or this is a new release.
