A staple of the Attitude Era, one of the most controversial groups of all time and a force that shaped a generation, DX are on course to be immortalised by the WWE.
First broke by ESPN, D-Generation X will be the first inductees into the 2019 WWE Hall Of Fame, which will take place on Saturday, April 6, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., during WrestleMania 35 Week.
The collective containing Triple H, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, X-Pac, Chyna and Shawn Michaels (joining Ric Flair as the first ever two-time WWE Hall of Famer) will be the third stable to be inducted, following The Four Horseman and The Fabulous Freebirds.
Formed in 1997 as Triple H and Shawn Michaels alongside their insurance policies Rick Rude and Chyna, their envelope pushing and controversial antics ushered in the much-loved Attitude Era. In 1998, Shawn Michaels retired and was replaced by The New Age Outlaws and X-Pac. They became firm fan favourites, feuding against The Nation and The Corporation. They also reformed as heels in late 1999 under the McMahon-Helmsley regime.
The group reunited in it’s original guise of Triple H and Michaels to fight the likes of Vince and Shane McMahon, Rated RKO and The Spirit Squad.
The last time we saw the band of renegades was at WWE Crown Jewel, where Triple H and Shawn Michaels fought The Brothers of Destruction.
