IPW United Kingdom to fall under the WL banner, with Billy Wood stepping down and Mark Young taking over.
In a statement posted on IPW and Wrestling League’s facebook pages, they announced that Billy Wood would be stepping away from the day-to-day management of IPW, with Wrestling League’s Mark Young taking his place.
Billy Wood gave his thoughts on this deal, saying:
‘I am really happy to announce Mark will now be running with the IPW brand moving forward. Unfortunately life and commitments in other projects means I don’t have the time IPW needs and deserves. Mark will come in and be allowed to run IPW how he sees fit, it’s in the best hands possible and I will be watching closely as he puts the level of enthusiasm it deserves.’
Mark Young also discussed the new aquisition, stating:
‘I’m very excited and enthusiastic to join IPW full time. The opportunity to work at the highest level and bring my 6 years of dedication with Wrestling League into IPW. I will be focusing on the whole brand from the training schools which will work alongside our current SOS system to the very top with Super shows showcasing everything IPW has to offer. Building talent up from training school to pro shows has been my biggest and proudest achievement in the last 6 years and will be looking to continue that with the incredible roster I have inherited at IPW. Thank you to Billy for the incredible brand you are entrusting me with I will respect everything that has been build and continue forward with the same ethics and values toward professional wrestling and most importantly remain loyal to its legacy. Thank you in advance for patience as we move forward in this exciting new chapter.’
IPW will operate alongside Wrestle League & SOS. The training schools will work together, having their own respective shows and will feed into IPW and WL. There will be a few IPW/WL (IPWL) Super shows a year.
