Jacques Rougeau Sr. passed away yesterday, following a battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

    He was 89 years old.

Rougeau was best known for wrestling in the Quebec area during the Sixties and Seventies, often tagging with his late brother Johnny and feuding with the likes of The Sheik, Alexis Smirnoff and Abdullah The Butcher.

He retired in 1984 a five time IWA International Heavyweight champion and a one time NWF Heavyweight champion. However he did get physically involved in his sons’ red hot feud with the Garvins in the Montreal territory in 1985.

Jacques Sr. is survived by five children and many grand and great-grandchildren.

We at TWM News wish the Rougeau family the best at this trying time.
