This past week on IMPACT Wrestling, owner of Global Force Wrestling and TNA founder Jeff Jarrett returned to the company to a great reaction both online and live. He cut a passionate promo about how he was fired from TNA, the real life history between them and announced he would be appearing at TNA’s Slammiversary Pay-Per-View on Sunday, 28th June 2015 as part of a King of the Mountain match, a match which Jarrett is famous for.

There is real history between the two parties. Jarrett resigned from TNA in January 2014 which was followed by a press release by TNA which read:

TNA Entertainment, LLC announced today that it has accepted Mr. Jeff Jarrett’s resignation from the company effective January 6th, 2014. Dixie Carter, President, commented “On behalf of TNA, we would like to thank Jeff for his contributions to the Company. We wish him the very best and look forward to his continued participation as an investor in TNA Wrestling.”

Jarrett, 47, focussed his efforts on starting Global Force and recently they held their first live shows. A partnership with New Japan Pro Wrestling and AAA in Mexico soon followed. It’s understood that the company is aggressively pursuing a TV deal, but at this stage there is nothing concrete in place. TNA then announced that they would not be allowing their talent to appear on GFW shows.

It’s not yet known if Jarrett’s appearance in TNA means these issues have been resolved, if there’s a working relationship between the two companies or if something bigger is happening behind the scenes.

Immediately after the appearance, Global Force Wrestling released the following video on their Social Media channels:

TNA subsequently released the following interview with Jeff Jarrett on their own website:

We’ll continue to follow this story as it develops, but it’s expected that there will be more news coming imminently.
