Archer recently departed from New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Former IWGP United States Champion Lance Archer has been revealed as All Elite Wrestling’s newest signing.
Archer had been rumoured for months to be making the switch to AEW, with many speculating that he could be ‘The Exahulted One’ in The Dark Order. However, this shows that it might not be the case.
Archer began his career in 2000, and wrestled on the independent circuit for close to five years until he signed with TNA under the names Dallas, Lance Hoyt and Lance Rock. He won the NWA Tag Team Titles with Kid Kash during that time.
He then joined WWE in 2009, moving to FCW, before debuting on the ECW brand. He had an unremarkable run with WWE before his release in 2010.
Archer made his name in New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he appeared from 2011 to 2015, and then from 2017 until 2020. He is a multi-time IWGP Tag Team champion, winner of the G1 Tag League, with Minoru Suzuki in 2011, and a former IWGP United States Champion. He lost the US Title in a Texas Deathmatch to Jon Moxley at Wrestle Kingdom 14, before wrestling his final match on their US tour against Jeff Cobb on February 1st.
The date for Archer’s AEW debut has not yet been announced.
