New Japan Pro Wrestling sent out the following: Kota Ibushi to miss July 11 card with vaccine side effects

Ibushi to miss Summer Struggle day two card. As Kota continues to suffer from side effects from a COVID-19 vaccination, he will not be participating in tonight’s Summer Struggle in Sapporo day two card in the best interests of wrestler health. We apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Kota wrestle, and appreciate your understanding. Ibushi’s condition will continue to be monitored, and decisions made as to his participation in upcoming matches.

As a result of Ibushi’s absence, the following change has been made to tonight’s card:

Match 5: Kota Ibushi & Master Wato vs Shingo Takagi & BUSHI (Original Match No Longer Taking Place)

Master Wato vs Shingo Takagi (New Match)

Two matches have already been announced for Wrestle Grand Slam in Tokyo Dome. Shingo Takagi will defend the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Kota Ibushi in the main event. The KOPW 2021 Trophy will also be on the line during the pre-show in a New Japan Ranbo. A match teased for the show is Dangerous Tekkers vs. Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Title, but the contest has not been made official yet.
