Former NJPW Jr Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi, one of the best wrestlers in the world, will be out of action indefinitely due to a herniated disc.

New Japan and DDT, the two companies who Kota works for the most, made a joint announcement. Ibushi, 33, missed both this past weekends DDT shows , and at the Press Conference said today that he won’t be wrestling for “a while” and that his NJPW contract which would expire in January, will be renewed.

New Japan made the announcement that he would be out of Saturday’s Power Struggle show.  DDT announced he would be out of action “a long time.”

We wish Kota, the very best in his recovery from this setback.
