WrestleMania 33 is heading to Orlando, Florida; WWE have confirmed today.
The Orlando Citrus Bowl will play host to the “Granddaddy of Them All” on April 2, 2017 as well as WrestleMania festivities all week long. The Sunshine State is quickly becoming a second home to WWE, with WrestleMania 33 emanating from the Citrus Bowl in Florida for the 2nd time in 10 years, it extends the long relationship WWE has with the State.
As well as being the home of WWE NXT at Full Sail University, and the WWE Performance Center, the company also announced there will be yet another addition to their Florida real estate in the form of a restaurant and in a move that will please fans, a physical WWE Hall of Fame museum at Universal Studios. They will occupy the property previously held by NBA City. The museum will have the likes of the statues and displays you see at WWE Axxess as well as historical memorabilia.
At the press conference this afternoon, WWE chairman Vince McMahon said “You will leave the Citrus Bowl emotionally exhausted. Everyone will enjoy the drama and the athleticism … but most importantly, you’ll leave with a big smile on your face.”
John Cena also made an appearance at the presser, expressing why Orlando is a good fit for WWE. “Orlando welcomes people and makes the impossible possible, makes dreams reality. Orlando, just like WrestleMania, makes moments that last a lifetime.”
