UPDATE: (22:06, 22/6/20) Vicky, Lucy, Michael and James are now the four people in sole-charge of Progress Wrestling –https://progresswrestling.com/blogs/news/burn-it-down
Progress Wrestling has announced changes to its hierarchy as both Glen Robinson and Matt Richards will step away from the company – Mark and Vicky Haskins join.
This follows a wide-spread movement on social media called #SpeakingOut, in which people across the country have been speaking up and sharing their negative experiences in British wrestling over a number of years.
Many wrestlers have been accused of illegal acts in which some have taken advantage of their positions as Bookers, Trainers, and otherwise.
A growing number of accusations have been aimed at Progress Wrestling, one of the biggest British wrestling companies in the UK. The company has been wildly criticised in their reaction to the movement when many thought they would lead.
Progress would go on to suspend and blackball a number of talent who are seen as regulars to the company. After multiple accusations following the #SpeakingOut movement: David Starr (Previously stripped of most championships he holds), Marc ‘Paz’ Parry, Travis Banks, and Ligero are no longer welcome at Progress Shows. Whilst Jordan Devlin & Scotty Davis have been stripped of their Tag Team Championships and also suspended indefinitely.
The potential Progress ownership change comes with Vicky Haskins (British wrestling veteran, aiding the #SpeakingOut movement, also wife & manager of Mark Haskins), Luce (Content creator, Progress regular, and photographer from London) and James Amner (A Managing Director from “Spy College LTD” based in London) coming in, with Michael Oku (The OJMO, Professional Wrestler) also being involved in some capacity.
Progress will provide more information tomorrow, and we will update you as soon as possible.
