Roman Reigns suspended for his first violation of WWE’s Wellness Policy. Official statements by WWE and Roman Reigns released.

A bombshell has been dropped on the wrestling world today as it was announced that WWE has suspended Roman Reigns for 30 days for his first violation of the company’s Wellness Policy.

In a statement on Twitter, Roman Reigns spoke out about his suspension saying:

I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE’s wellness policy. No excuses. I own it.

It’s not yet known what Roman Reigns failed the Wellness Policy test for.

Of course this news could potentially ruin WWE’s booking plans. A 30 day suspension means Reigns will be free to return to WWE TV just three days before WWE Battleground. At that show, he’s currently slated to face WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in a Triple Threat Match. However, due to suspension Reigns cannot appear on WWE TV in any capacity, including pre-taped promos. This means Reigns cannot be involved in ANY of the build for the match.

If WWE decide to change their plans and have a singles match between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, it throws into the air any possibility that Roman would even be placed back into the title picture when he returns.

    WWE issued a brief statement:

WWE has suspended Joe Anoa`i (Roman Reigns) for 30 days effective immediately for his first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.
