WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion, Seth Rollins has been named #1 on the 25th annual PWI 500 list, beating out the likes of John Cena, AJ Styles, Ricochet and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Seth flew out of the blocks this year, competing in a match of the year candidate against Brock Lesnar and John Cena at the Royal Rumble – a match many still consider the year’s best. It was all uphill from there.

At WrestleMania 31 in Levi’s Stadium in front of almost 80,000 fans, Seth shocked the world when he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract during the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, making it a triple threat match. He’s the first superstar to ever do so. Rollins went on to pin Reigns after a curb stomp, becoming the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion in one of the most incredible moments in WWE history.

He made even more history when he defeated John Cena at SummerSlam for the United States Championship, making him the only person in WWE history to hold the WWE World Heavyweight and United States titles at the same time making him arguably one of the greatest WWE superstars of all-time.

Rollins is firmly cemented as the top heel in the company and with 3 months left to go in the year, he could cement his legacy even further if he defeats both John Cena & Sting in the same night at WWE Night of Champions as he puts both his US and WWE titles on the line in separate matches. If successful, he would be the first person to win two Championship matches in the same night since Chris Jericho became the Undisputed Champion in December 2001.

Seth has previously placed #12 (2014), #35 (2013) and #46 (2012) in the list, showing clear improvement year upon year.
