MONDAY, OCTOBER 2ND’S EPISODE OF RAW HAS ALL BUT CONFIRMED WE ARE ABOUT TO SEE THE RETURN OF THE SHIELD.
I’m a big advocate of the Shield, I thought they were fantastic and of course, all superstars were destined for great things. I couldn’t help but feel they had split them up too early.
It was teased during a segment for MizTV where The Miz talked of the accomplishments of Reigns this year. From burying the Undertaker at Wrestlemania to overcoming John Cena at No Mercy in what has been described as “equally impressive” and a passing of the torch. Reigns described it as the biggest win of his career and was met with negative responses from the crowd. Reigns disrespected The Miztourage and Miz retaliated by saying Reigns rode the coattails of two other superstars. Miz teased a match between the Miztourage and The Shield to which Roman replied the Shield would whoop them, no problem.
That’s the biggest pop I’ve heard in a long time and this is going to be key in getting Reigns over. They have tried more or less everything including, The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment, The Rock. Rocky couldn’t get Reigns over, only the Shield can. Believe that.
Reigns went onto state it wasn’t going to happen and that Seth and Dean were doing their thing and he had his eyes on the Universal Championship. This isn’t a spoiler to anybody who is a fan but Reigns isn’t getting near that belt for a while.
We’ve seen teases of the Shield for a while and now Ambrose and Rollins are finally on the same page and are currently the WWE Tag Team Champions, could we potentially see the big dog go back to his roots? Absolutely, for me its a must.
I’ve been saying it for a long time, Roman Reigns isn’t going to get his hands on the Universal Championship until Wrestlemania 34 when he overcomes Brock Lesnar in a “Conqueror v Conqueror” bout, kicks out of the F5 and becomes the Universal Champion and ultimately the new face of the WWE
Roman realigning himself with the Shield is best for business. We get to see an awesome stable again, it keeps Reigns out of the title scene for a bit longer but also keeps him exciting, fresh, relevant and hopefully, it’ll be a tall order but hopefully, get him over.
Roman Reigns had a stab for the Intercontinental Championship on the most recent episode of RAW against The Miz only to win by DQ as he was thwarted by none other than The Bar, Sheamus and Cesaro. An unusual pairing with Miz but it’ll make sense.
The key word, or location here is, Indianapolis.
The Shield formed five years ago in Indianapolis. On June 2nd, 2014 was the betrayal of Seth Rollins which also took place in Indianapolis. Rollins decimated Ambrose and Reigns with a steel chair and aligned himself with The Authority.
Where do you think the next episode of RAW is taking place? You guessed it, Indianapolis.
We saw a great segment much to the delight of the crowd when we saw Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins all backstage together. Fans went into a frenzy as “Shield!” chants surrounded the arena. The only thing left to do is unite the Hounds of Justice in the squared circle.
This will most likely lead to a TLC match at the next RAW pay-per-view featuring The Shield v Cesaro, Sheamus and The Miz.
