Billed at 6’8, 385 pounds of pure monstrosity and with an impressive strongman showing while representing the U.S.A, Braun Strowman is a unique anomaly for WWE and the universe. He’s known as “The Black Sheep” and “The Face of Destruction”, the latter dubbed by Bray Wyatt. Strowman is everything that has been lacking within The Wyatt Family and that is pure intimidation. I am by no means taking a shot at Erick Rowan but when Strowman debuted and dismantled both Ambrose and Reign and aligned himself with Bray and Luke, The Wyatt Family looked physically intimidating.
Needless to say, I’m still in favour of increasing the size of The Wyatt Family but this is a staggering addition to what was a less intimidating team. Braun Strowman adds legitimate strength and power to The Wyatt Family. He is a recognized strongman competitor, achieving quite the list of accomplishments during his tenure. Here is a list of his accolades from his past:
Competitor for United States:
Arnold Amateur Strongman World Championships
1st – 2012
Central GA Strongest Man
1st – 2011
Europa Battle of Champions
3rd – 2010
Monster of the Midland
1st – 2010
NAS US Amateur National Championships
1st – 2011
Summerfest Strongman
1st – 2011
West Carry Fall Festival of Power
1st – 2011
He’s an impressive man of physical power and having now aligned himself with Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper, he is the bearer of all things destruction. The way he debuted was everything that his new persona embodied; Hulking, menacing, and of course, destructive. How he threw Roman Reigns around like he was a cruiserweight, to taking a boot to the face only to respond with a smile for Ambrose, he’s the perfect fit (and one I missed) for The Wyatt Family. The moves he performed on both Reigns and Ambrose appeared to be great fits for him as well. We’ve only have a sliver of what this man is capable of but from what I’ve seen, they’re making him out to be almost completely indestructible and in hindsight, the best thing that could happen would be for Reigns and Ambrose to (no pun intended) not look strong at all. One thing leads to another and you have a heel turn from Reigns or Ambrose.
The biggest question after seeing his debut and starting to see what he’s capable of is where will The Wyatt Family go from here. After their feud with Reigns and Ambrose, the biggest concern is for them to not fall into obscurity with this colossus of a man now joining the family. The best thing that can happen for this group is for them to dominate the WWE. With self-titled names like “The new Face of Fear”, “The new Face of Desolation” and “The new Face of Destruction” they need to live up to those names by causing absolute destruction, desolation and fear. If Strowman is the apparent “New Face of Destruction” have him be consistent for that. Don’t allow him to appear weak or “not strong” for any superstar, for the near future. Having him no-sell finishers, to going into 1-on-3 battles and still coming out on top in the end would add legitimacy to himself and make The Wyatt Family look more powerful and terrifying to encounter for everyone on the roster.
