Vince McMahon has announced that talent cannot “engage with third parties“, according to various sources and Wrestling Inc.
This was laid out during a call last Sunday, apparently about “reinventing the product”, in which Mr McMahon stated WWE owns talent’s real names, not just their stage names. He followed this up with a letter on Thursday, which stated:
“Some of you are engaged with outside third parties using your name and likeness in ways that are detrimental to our company. It is imperative that these activities be terminated within the next 30 days (by Friday October 2). Continued violations will result in fines, suspension, or termination at WWE’s discretion.”
The third parties he refers to presumably includes both Twitch and Cameo, and possibly YouTube and TikTok. Notable WWE Superstars on these platforms include Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss, Big E and Mia Yim.
