Former WWE Champion makes his analyst debut on FS1.
CM Punk returned to WWE television in a capacity as an analyst on their ‘Backstage’ FS1 show, and he did not hold back.
In an interview with host Renee Young, he first reiterated that he is employed by Fox and has not been in contact with anyone from WWE, saying he liked that as he gets to criticize the company. He also said that he was now at a point in his life where he can pick and choose what he does and doesn’t have to work with what he called “jerks”.
Renee asked if anyone texted him after the debut. Punk mentioned AEW commentator Jim Ross but he didn’t think it was strange as he still regularly texts with him.
The conversation then turned to his return to the ring, and Punk said he had no interest in doing that, but he’s old enough now to know to never say no, adding that it was a bridge that needs to be built, and that bridge is about as big as the Great Wall of China.
Punk also gave his takes on the current WWE product saying that he hated the Baron Corbin “big dog segment from SmackDown, enjoys NXT because they’ve not been ‘tainted’ by overexposure, that he does not like the new blue Universal Title and told Seth Rollins to get off Twitter, following Rollins repeated comments to the former WWE Champion.
