The unprecedented decision was forced by massive closures across the US.

    Due to the devastating Coronavirus pandemic, this year’s WrestleMania has been moved to the WWE Performance Centre. In what seemed to be a ridiculous game of chicken, the initial meeting was held on March 12th to which “The City of Tampa” decided not to cancel the mega show. Since that time, we have had cancellations of large events from all over the world, ranging Football to hockey to concerts, resulting in many countries banning pretty much any large gathering of over 500 people.

    On Friday, March 13th. WWE Hall of Famer and most importantly, United States President Donald Trump, announced that the United States of America has declared a National Emergency. This seemed to be the turning point in discussions between WWE and the Mayor of Tampa.

    At last, a decision was made where WrestleMania will take place for the first time with no fans, at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. This is where RAW, SmackDown, NXT & 205 Live have all been taking place during the time of quarantine.

    In a statement on WWE.com, they’ve said;

    “In coordination with local partners and government officials, WrestleMania and all related events in Tampa Bay will not take place. However, WrestleMania will still stream live on Sunday, April 5 at 7 pm ET on WWE Network and be available on pay-per-view. Only essential personnel will be on the closed set at WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida to produce WrestleMania.”
