The Wrestling Mania can unfortunately confirm that former WCW and WWE superstar Sean O’Haire was found dead in his Spartanburg, South Carolina home on Monday. He was 43.

O’Haire was perhaps best known for his tag team reign with Chuck Palumbo in WCW, but it was in WWE where he had the most potential, unfortunately never realising it. O’Haire had huge untapped potential and WWE were preparing to launch him into the stratosphere with his “Devil’s Advocate” gimmick and his “I’m not telling you anything that you don’t already know” vignettes. Unfortunately the character was dropped after a short time, and WWE fans never saw Sean O’Haire again.

O’Haire then moved on to have relatively short stints in kickboxing and MMA.

On behalf of all of us at The Wrestling Mania, we send our deepest condolences to Sean’s family, friends and fans. RIP.

UPDATE: TMZ.com is reporting Sean O’Haire committed suicide.

The former WWE and WCW star was found in his bedroom with a red rope tied around his neck and connected to the bedpost.

O’Haire had battled with depression and substance abuse for a number of years.
