WWE has acquired EVOLVE Wrestling. The long-running World Wrestling Network flagship promotion has been bought by the WWE.

First confirmed by PWInsider.com, WWE will now have the complete right to use the EVOLVE brand name, produce EVOLVE shows (If they choose too) and use any/all of EVOLVE content down the line. It is currently unknown if WWE will be allowed to use any other content from the WWN group.

EVOLVE ran over 146 events in its 10-year life cycle, featuring the likes of Austin Theory, Brodie Lee (Luke Harper), Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose), Drew Gulak, Keith Lee, Johnny Gargano, Shotzi Blackheart, Ricochet, Matt Riddle and many many more current WWE talents.

Fresh content can also now be used by the WWE if they choose to do so including the unlikely prospect of none other than The Young Bucks featuring on the WWE Network.

We have reached out to WWE for comment on the purchase, and will update this post after an official statement.
