Edge has chosen to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37 for the Universal Championship.

    WWE Championship | January 8th, 2006 – January 29th, 2006 | Days Held: 21 Days

At New Year’s Revolution 2006, Edge was scheduled to compete against Ric Flair for his Intercontinental Championship to open the show.

Edge seemed to get himself intentionally disqualified by hitting Flair with his Money In The Bank briefcase and it soon became apparent why.

Cena had already successfully defended the WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber, defeating Shawn Michaels, Carlito, Kurt Angle, Chris Masters, and Kane.

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon revealed that Edge was cashing in his Money in the Bank contract that he’d won at WrestleMania 21.

After two Spears, Edge pinned Cena to win the WWE Championship, solidifying his spot in the main event scene. He held the title for just three weeks as Cena would recapture it at the 2006 Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.

2nd – Monday Night Raw – (def Rob Van Dam and John Cena)

    WWE Championship | July 3rd, 2006 – September 17th, 2006 | Days Held: 76 Days

Edge’s second WWE Championship reign began a week after Vengeance 2006, in which he unsuccessfully challenged then-champion, Rob Van Dam, for the title, after helping Van Dam win his cash-in match at ECW One Night Stand 2006.

He regained the Championship on the July 3rd, 2006 episode of RAW, defeating RVD and John Cena in a triple threat match in which he pinned RVD to win. His win meant that the WWE title returned to the RAW brand.

This also resulted in Edge’s rivalry with Cena being reignited, as they were scheduled to face off for the WWE Title at Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXIII, which Edge lost via disqualification but kept the title due to champion’s advantage. The pair also came to blows at Summerslam, where Edge would lose the belt if disqualified.

The night after SummerSlam, Lita disposed of Cena’s customized spinner belt by throwing it into the Long Island Sound, with Edge later unveiling a new “Rated R” version of the title.

Cena’s customized belt wasn’t the only thing to end up in the Long Island Sound that night, as Cena threw Edge in there too. The pair then agreed the following week that if Edge could defeat Cena in a match for the title, then Cena would sign a contract to move to SmackDown.

Edge agreed, on the condition that the match would be a TLC match, held at Unforgiven, which was being held in Edge’s hometown of Toronto. Edge would lose the match to Cena.

3rd – Friday Night Smackdown 2007 – (def The Undertaker)

    World Heavyweight Championship | May 11th, 2007 – July 20th, 2007 | Days Held: 70 Days

Although he didn’t win the Money in the Bank Ladder match at WrestleMania 23, Edge did defeat the winner of the match, Mr Kennedy, for the briefcase a month afterwards, and didn’t waste much time cashing in the contract.

Just a few days after winning the briefcase from Kennedy, Edge appeared on SmackDown and, following The Undertaker retaining the World Heavyweight Championship against Batista in a Steel Cage match.

Following a vicious attack from Mark Henry, Edge cashed in the briefcase after hitting two spears to win the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time. As a result of this win, Edge became a member of the SmackDown roster.

Edge would then begin a rivalry with Batista, retaining the World Heavyweight title against him at Judgment Day, defeating him in a Steel Cage match at One Night Stand, and then once again, this time in a Last Chance match at Vengeance.

Edge’s next rival was set to be Kane, as revealed by then-SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long but Edge was forced to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship due to a legitimately torn left pectoral muscle.

Edge surrendered the title on the July 20th, 2007 episode of SmackDown and was out of action for almost four months.

4th – Armageddon 2007 – (def The Undertaker and Batista)

    World Heavyweight Championship | December 16th, 2007 – March 30th, 2008 | Days Held: 105 Days

Edge’s fourth reign began just under a month after he returned from injury. He defeated The Undertaker and Batista in a triple threat match at Armageddon, albeit with help from the soon to be ‘Edge Heads’.

Edge would successfully defend the World Heavyweight Championship at the 2008 Royal Rumble and No Way Out pay-per-views against Rey Mysterio.

Whilst Edge retained the World Heavyweight title against Rey Mysterio at No Way Out, earlier in the night, a match to determine who would challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXIV took place inside the Elimination Chamber.

Big Daddy V, The Great Khali, Finlay, Batista, The Undertaker, and Montel Vontavious Porter were the six participants, a mix of both SmackDown and ECW superstars due to the working relationship between the two brands.

After starting the match, The Undertaker and Batista would make it to the end, where The Undertaker would pin Batista following a Tombstone Piledriver to secure his shot at WrestleMania XXIV.

At the Show of Shows, The Undertaker would defeat Edge to win the World Heavyweight Championship by forcing him to submit to Hell’s Gate to win the match, extending his undefeated WrestleMania streak to 16-0 in the process.

5th – Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2008 – (def The Undertaker)

    World Heavyweight Championship | June 1st, 2008 – June 30th, 2008 | Days Held: 29 Days

Edge would regain the World Heavyweight Championship just three months later when he defeated The Undertaker in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at the 2008 One Night Stand pay-per-view event, and, with his victory, The Undertaker was ‘banished’ from the WWE.

Soon after, Edge would retain the title at Night of Champions on June 29th, 2008 with a victory over Batista. The following night on RAW, Edge appeared to gloat that two of the top championships were on SmackDown, as then WWE Champion Triple H had been drafted to the SmackDown brand during the WWE Draft earlier that week.

Not taking those words too kindly, Batista then appeared and took his frustrations out on Edge, taking him out with a Batista Bomb.

As Batista was leaving, Mr Money in the Bank, CM Punk, ran down to the ring with a referee in tow and cashed in his briefcase to win the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career, ending Edge’s fifth World title reign at just twenty-nine days.

6th – Survivor Series 2008 (def Triple H and Vladimir Kozlov)

    WWE Championship | November 23rd, 2008 – December 14th, 2008 | Days Held: 21 Days

After losing the World Heavyweight Championship to CM Punk, Edge left the title picture for a while as he feuded with The Undertaker, who had recently returned to the WWE.

After a loss to “The Deadman” at Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam 2008, Edge disappeared for three months returning at Survivor Series to replace Jeff Hardy in a triple threat match for the WWE Championship.

Edge won that triple threat, defeating Vladimir Kozlov and then-champion Triple H to win his third WWE Championship and sixth World title overall.

He wouldn’t hold it for long, though, as he lost the WWE Championship in a triple threat match the following month at Armageddon to Jeff Hardy, in a match that also involved Triple H.

He would continue the chase for the WWE Championship, though, as he was scheduled to challenge Jeff Hardy for the title in a No Disqualification match at the 2009 Royal Rumble event.

7th – Royal Rumble 2009 (def Jeff Hardy)

Image result for edge royal rumble 2009 championship

    WWE Championship | January 25th, 2009 – February 15th, 2009 | Days Held: 21 Days

His fourth WWE Championship reign would come a month after his loss to Jeff Hardy, as he defeated Hardy in a No Disqualification match at the Royal Rumble, due to outside interference from Matt Hardy, who struck his brother with a steel chair, which Edge took full advantage of by immediately pinning the then-champion.

With this victory, Edge became an overall seven-time World champion, as Edge had won the World Heavyweight Championship three times and the WWE Championship four times in the space of just three years.

The Canadian native seemed to be on the road to walking into his second WrestleMania in a row as a world champion until he stepped into the Elimination Chamber at No Way Out 2009.

Edge defended the WWE Championship inside the Chamber against former champion Hardy, The Undertaker, The Big Show, Vladimir Kozlov, and Triple H in the opening match of No Way Out.

He was the first to be eliminated as Jeff Hardy pinned him after just three minutes, with Hardy rolling him up with an inside cradle to ensure that a new WWE Champion would be crowned, with Triple H eliminating The Undertaker to win the match.

Edge would not have to wait too long for his next World title reign though.

8 – No Way Out 2009 – (def John Cena)

    World Heavyweight Championship | February 15th, 2009 – April 5th, 2009 |Days Held: 49 Days (WWE recognizes it as 48 Days)

After losing the WWE Championship earlier in the night, Edge lived up to his moniker of the “Ultimate Opportunist” as he attacked Kofi Kingston during his entrance to the World Heavyweight Championship Chamber match.

He would go onto win the title, eliminating defending champion John Cena on the way to his victory and eventually pinning Rey Mysterio to win the match and the World Heavyweight title, making him one of the only superstars to both lose and win a World Championship in the WWE on the same night.

Edge held the title until WrestleMania 25, in which he would defend the title in a triple threat match against The Big Show and John Cena, which meant that he walked into two consecutive WrestleManias as the World Heavyweight Champion. Much like the previous year at WrestleMania XXIV, Edge would not walk out of this WrestleMania as champion either as Cena would defeat Edge and Show to win the title.

    9 – Backlash 2009 – (def John Cena)

Image result for backlash 2009 edge

    World Heavyweight Championship | April 26th, 2009 – June 7th, 2009 | Days Held: 42 Days

After losing the title to Cena at WrestleMania, the rivalry did not end there. Edge and Cena reignited their rivalry from three years earlier and were scheduled to face off in a Last Man Standing match later that month at Backlash.

After almost thirty minutes of fighting, The Big Show would come out of nowhere and Chokeslam John Cena through a spotlight on the stage, giving Edge the victory and his fifth World Heavyweight Championship.

This victory would also make the World Heavyweight title exclusive to SmackDown, due to Edge’s status as a SmackDown superstar.

Edge would lose the title just over a month later in a Ladder match at Extreme Rules to Jeff Hardy, who would then immediately lose the title himself to CM Punk, who cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase.

He would then be out of the World title picture for over a year after losing his rematch in a triple threat match against Punk and Hardy, which Punk won.

The Rated ”R” Superstar moved on to the Tag Team Championships but soon after winning them, alongside Chris Jericho, he suffered a torn Achilles tendon during a house show match with Jeff Hardy which put him out for six months.

10 – Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2010 – (def Kane, Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio)

World Heavyweight Championship | December 19th, 2010 – February 15th, 2011 | Days Held: 58 Days (WWE recognizes the reign lasting as 61 days due to tape delay)

Edge would return as the twenty-ninth entrant in the 2010 Royal Rumble match, eliminating John Cena to win, he was, however, unsuccessful in defeating then-World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho at WrestleMania XXVI.

Edge would then spend the majority of 2010 on the RAW roster, unsuccessfully challenging for the WWE Championship until he was traded back to the SmackDown roster for CM Punk, due to Edge destroying the Anonymous RAW General Manager’s laptop.

On Edge’s return to the SmackDown brand, he would reignite his feud with then-World Heavyweight Champion Kane, when he became the #1 contender for his World Heavyweight title.

Their first match for the title at Survivor Series ended in a double pinfall, resulting in Kane retaining the title. Edge continued antagonizing Kane, even taking his manager Paul Bearer hostage, and the two were booked into a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the title at the namesake event in December.

General Manager Theodore Long later added Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio to the match but Edge still came out the victor to win his tenth overall World title reign.

Edge would retain against Dolph Ziggler at the Royal Rumble but was stripped of the Championship and fired on the February 15th, 2011 episode of SmackDown by acting General Manager Vickie Guerrero due to Edge’s use of the Spear, which Vickie had banned, in a previous match.

Guerrero awarded the title to her new client Dolph Ziggler that same night.

    World Heavyweight Championship | February 15th, 2011 – April 12th, 2011 | Days Held: 55 Days

Theodore Long would return that same night, rehire Edge and give him a rematch. Edge would then defeat Dolph Ziggler to regain the World Heavyweight Championship, using his long-time friend Christian’s finisher, the Unprettier (then known as the Killswitch) to win the title.

Edge kept the title until WrestleMania, retaining the belt inside the Elimination Chamber, defeating Wade Barrett, The Big Show, Drew McIntyre, Kane, and Rey Mysterio at the namesake event.

Immediately after retaining the title, he would be attacked by the 2011 Royal Rumble winner Alberto Del Rio, evidently making his decision as to which title he would challenge for at WrestleMania.

At WrestleMania 27, Edge would retain the championship, defeating Del Rio in the opening contest at the Show of Shows.

His defence against Del Rio would be his last as champion, as eight days after WrestleMania 27 on the April 11th, 2011 episode of RAW.

Edge would sadly announce his retirement as a full-time active wrestler, effectively relinquishing the title and retiring as World Heavyweight Champion.
