The arena for the second NXT UK special has been announced.
The event will be taking place at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on Saturday, 31st August, 2019.
Tickets will be going on sale tomorrow – Friday 7th June – at 10am local time.
This will be taking place the same day as AEW All Out, which is in Chicago, but the times do not coincide and fans will not be asked to pick between one or the other.
However, NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff is also on the same day as NJPW: Royal Quest, which is hosted in London. Word on the street is that WWE had a spy in the ticket office for the event and thought NJPW had only sold 2,000 tickets, but it turns out that it was around 5,000 in total. It is also taking place on the same day as Wales face Ireland in a Rugby World Cup warm-up match, which has driven hotel prices through the roof around the area.
Overall, TakeOver: Cardiff looks like it may not have the same level of attendance that WWE might be hoping for, but obviously, we’ll have to watch this space.
