In late February, Wrestling Observer News released their 41st annual Wrestling Observer Newsletter readership awards. The awards were based on the time frame from January 1st 2020 to December 31st 2020. Among the pack, the Fued between The Fiend Bray Wyatt and The Legend Killer Randy Orton was voted 2nd Worst Feud Of The Year (coming behind Bray Wyatt vs Braun Strowman)

In this article, Zain takes a look at the continuing Feud giving us a run down in preparation for their match at Night 2 of WrestleMania.

In October 2015, ‘The Eater of the Worlds’ Bray Wyatt made an apt appearance on an edition of WWE’s YouTube series Superstar Ghost Stories to discuss ‘The man in the woods’. The man in the woods was a creature Bray had encountered one night while venturing out to the woods. He went on to describe the man in detail.

“He was about seven-foot-tall, walking upright, No pigment in his skin. He was as pale as a pearl. He had thin yellow hairs running all the way down to his knees and he was carrying an alligator, with one hand, dragging it across the beachline. His eyes were yellow like a cat.”

At the end of the video, Bray revealed that Abigail had told him he was the man in the woods.

Almost four years after the video was posted on WWE’s official YouTube Channel, The Fiend made himself known to the world as the most dangerous, crazy and psychotic being that fans had ever seen. Everyone was in awe. It was something special.

However, it didn’t take long for the entire concept to fall flat on its back. Match after match, The Fiend was losing his appeal until Goldberg hit the final nail in his coffin suplexing him for the win at Crown Jewel 2020.

The Fiend, unfortunately, has not recovered from the poor decisions that were made for him and currently finds himself in a match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania. Let’s see how we got here.
